Jenna wins Survivor Amazon over Matt with a 6-1 vote after winning the final two immunity challenges!!!
Episode 12
Jenna and Heidi still accused Rob of his scheming. Butch and Rob gathered many fallen branches & sticks as firewood. Butch finally showed his humorous side! Rob laughed so hard as Butch acted silly!
As they left their camp on way to the challenge area for reward challenge, the extra firewood triggered the mini-forest fire which burned the shelter and personal things!
Reward Challenge - the selection of tasks covering the previous ones. Matt won the red Saturn car! Everyone got in the car! Matt begged Jeff to let him share food with the tribemates. Jeff said no it was not possible. He said that Matt could choose only one. Matt chose Rob. They cooked hamburgers and hot dogs over the wee BBQ. They ate and drank merrily. They hugged!
Meanwhile, Butch, Heidi, and Jenna were shocked to see the blackened burnt shelter! Matt & Rob's merriment changed to shock as they saw the remains of the fire shelter. Jenna was very upset that she lost her beloved Zeta crown and sweatshirt. Rob felt "lost" without his beloved Magic 8-Ball! Heidi was lucky that her belongings were spared!
Immunity Challenge - they had to retrieve the feathers while they went thru many obstacles made from rope! Matt won immunity! Jeff handled him the half-burned necklace!
Tribal Council - Dave and Christy shook their heads as they listened the discussion about the fire that devoured the camp. After Jeff questioned the castaways, he asked Heidi how she felt about being in Final Two. Heidi said she wanted to be in Final Two and she acted as if she were in control of the game! She repeated the same mistake that Deena, Alex, and Christy made! This caused Heidi to become 12th person leaving Survivor: the Amazon. She will became the fifth jury member. Jenna was so upset and broke down in tears! PRICELESS.
Jenna is the second woman in all-man in Final Four. Kim Johnson of Survivor: Africa was the first woman in all-man Final Four after Teresa Cooper was voted off as 12th person. Paschal English of Survivor: Marquesas was the only man in all women Final Four after Sean Rector was voted off as 12th person!
I could picture Christy smiling as one of her "two evil step-sisters" was ousted! She must have thought, "Sweet revenge".
Don't forget the two-hour finale and reunion this Sunday, May 11!
Episode 11
Jenna and Heidi accused Rob of betraying them by voting Alex off. They said they didn't trust him. Then Heidi tried to get Christy's vote. Christy discussed with Rob in private. She shook hands with the boys after they spit into their hands! But later, Rob tried to convience Heidi to win the votes.
Reward challenge - Matthew won the reward! He made a sacrifice so others could meet their loved ones! But Matt got a better reward - the getaway with his mom!
Immunity Challenge - the castaways shot the plates and broke them. They picked their small pucks that hung from the big plates. Each of them slid the small puck, trying to reach the "X" on the South American map. Jenna won the immunity again.
Christy and Heidi got into an argument. Later, Rob and Heidi agreed to vote Christy!
Tribal Council - A shocker! Jenna gave immunity to Heidi. Christy and Butch wrote, "Jenna". I don't blame them. Other votes were not revealed. Jeff revealed Jenna & Christy votes. Adding an insult to an injury, Jeff revealed the last vote, "Christy". Christy became the 11th person to be voted out of Survivor: the Amazon.
Christy's final words... She was teary during her final words. She sighed, "I didn't deserve it.....wanted to be a role model..."
Christy made a big mistake as she got in the "power" wagon. I don't blame her cuz she didn't hear the conversations circulating between "power" ones like Deena and Alex. She did play under the radar until she was betrayed into believing that she was in the safe alliance with the boys. She got caught up in the wild goose chase that led to her eviction from he Amazon.
Episode 10
Jenna, Heidi, Rob, and Alex were sunbathing and relaxing like a hare in the infamous fairy tale, "The Hare and Tortoise" (I don't remember the exact title). They were not concerned since they outnumbered the non-alliance group. They lay on the ground like a grasshopper while the ants were very busy with their chores!
Reward challenge - not really. Auction time again! The castaways bid a several hundred dollars for real great meals! What's more - they bid for the letters from home! While the rest ran out of money, Christy finally bid for hers and got it since she didn't get food. Jenna got so upset cuz she was short of money and she wanted that letter so badly. Christy (or Heidi?) gave some of hers to teary Jenna so she could hear from her mother. Jenna got good news that her mother's brain tumor shrunk 50%! Christy sat by herself under the tree as she opened the letter from her best friend, Jennifer. She wiped her eyes as she read the letter. She signed, "...friend...good person..." The TV screen showed only upper part of her hands, so it was kinda hard to see whole signs. Heidi cried with Jenna as she hugged her since she was happy for Jenna.
Rob and Alex discussed about voting off and trusting. Then Rob and Matt went to some private location like they did in the past. I was in for a surprise - Rob confessed to Matt about his betrayal!! Matt was surprised, but appreciated Rob's honesty (finally!) and Rob wanted to straighten his tangled plotting.
Then Rob plotted with Butch, Christy, and Matt to oust Alex! Rob knew that Alex was a big threat since he confronted Rob last episode about Deena plotting to vote against Alex. Rob has turned on his new Jaburu alliance!!
Immunity challenge - (Earlier in the day, each contestant wrote down the answers to the questionnaire), they met Jeff at night. Jeff asked "who" questions. The contestants revealed the written names on the board. Rob won immunity!
Tribal council - Dave and Deena sat in the jury box. Jeff asked the castaways if they were surprised if they get voted off. Heidi and others replied, "yes". Christy was asked. Her reply was "no". Then Jeff revealed the votes - Alex got 4 votes and Matt got 3 votes! So Alex became the 10th person to be voted out of Survivor: the Amazon. Heidi and Jenna looked surprised. Rob did turn on Alex instead of Matt! What changed your heart, Rob? yippppeeee Christy is still in the game!! Whew!! It seems that the "tortoise" is catching up with the "hare"!
Episode 8
Jacare tribe feels lighter and happier especially when Roger was voted off. Dave and Butch were hatching the small trees with the machettes to make a "bridge" from camp to the boat. Dave was confiding in Butch that he felt very vunerable since he knew he was a threat.
Matt was sharpening the machette which creeped out his tribemates. He was making a slit in his shoes which were dried up as they were left too close to the fire.
At reward challenge, since there were nine people left, they were divided in three teams of three to compete in a muddy water, pulling something. Purple team won, beating green & orange teams. Then three guys played against each other and Dave won! Reward challenge was a banana split and brownie sundae, iced tea, and a bath! Dave chose Deena as his partner! I knew that Dave was up to something! He tried to coax Deena into voting for Matt. Deena was too smart to fall for Dave's trick. Bravo, Deena!
At immune challenge, each tribemate painted the ugly masks - they did a good job especially Butch's mask with glasses!! Then Jeff asked questions about Amazon culture and religion. If the castaways answered right, they could chop the rope which led to the wooden log that smashed the masks. Christy had several masks smashed!! But Jenna ended up in winning immunity and was given a necklace by Jeff.
At tribal council, Dave pleaded for a chance to stay for three more days. Matt said he felt so good and happier with the tribe. Deena and Rob tried to control their chuckles cuz Rob was fooling Matthew into voting earlier. Matthew had 1 vote and Dave had seven votes! Dave became 8th person to be voted out of Survivor: the Amazon. As the votes were being revealed at end of show, I was a little surprised that Butch voted for Dave! Old Tambiqui alliance is now gone for good.
Episode 7 - The Merge - 'Survivor: Amazon'
Each tribe packed to go to a new location - a real merge this time! They got their new buffs - very orange ones almost similar to the color of Chuay Gahn in Survivor: Thailand. They celebrated with a feast of chicken & other yummy foods, and beer! Then they started building the new shelter again! There was a tension growing between Deena and Roger since they are alpha leaders of each former tribe. Roger insisted that men to help him build the shelter, but he let Christy help him. The men discussed about how much they hated Roger for being bossy, etc. Heidi tried to convince her former Jaburu alliance to vote off Roger because if Roger made the jury, he would vote for the male player as a sole Survivor for sure.
First individual immune challenge - each member had to stand on the 4" & 12" wooden perch over the flooded area of the river. Jeff tempted them with delicious food if they jumped. Jenna and Heidi stripped to nudity! They were first to jump from the perches for peanut butter & chocolate! Roger and others followed. Deena and Christy were the last ones still standing. Deena made a bet with Christy by sign language gestures - I guess that if Christy jumped, then Deena won't vote her off. Christy did jump first, followed by Deena who won an immune necklace! I wished Christy hadn't jumped, but I'm now glad cuz she is now safe with old Jaburu alliance rather than old Tambiqui alliance since Heidi re-joined old Jaburu alliance which weakened old Tambiqui alliance.
The new Jacare (boring name) tribe rode in a canoe made for 10 to Tribal Council. Jeff revealed the votes - all for Christy and Roger! Roger had 7 votes and Christy had only 3! Roger became 7th person voted off from Survivor: the Amazon.
Old Tambiqui alliance was a fake one - like a fake merger at Survivor: Thailand in Epsiode #7. Christy did a brilliant thing by not sticking to a fake Tambiqui alliance. Surely she knew that Roger, Butch, and Dave couldn't be trusted. She is too smart to fall for Tambiqui's trick. Heidi did a brilliant thing by encouraging Deena & Jaburu to vote Roger off. One more thing - Christy voted for Roger, too! A smart move, Christy! However, I have a feeling that Christy may be a big threat and may be voted off in a few next epsiodes, but at least Christy made the jury! I sure hope that she will win the future immune challenges, so she will stay in the game farther.
